Margaret Klein

05-30-2016 09Margaret Jane Klein, 85, of Sedalia, passed away on Sunday, May 29th, 2016 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

Margaret was born on February 9th, 1931. She was seventh of nine children born to Oliver and Davie Sitton Hays of Dove Creek, Colorado.

She graduated from Delta High School in Delta, Colorado, in 1949, and later earned her associate’s degree in Management from State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri. On October 28th, 1977, she was united in marriage to Tommie F. Klein Sr., who survives of the home in Sedalia.

Margaret held various retail positions as a young woman, but once she and Tommie married, she took on the role of devoted farm wife, where in addition to homemaking she was able to spend time babysitting her grandchildren. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching and other crafts. She was a member of the Sedalia First Baptist Church, and a member of the Sedalia Jolly Elders.

Margaret had two sons from a previous marriage, Rick (Tery Jo) Quigley of White Salmon, WA and Dave (Rhonda) Quigley of Sedalia, and three step-children, Tommie “Bud” Jr. (Loretta) Klein, Andy (Diana) Klein, both of Sedalia and Elva (Kenneth) Smith of LaMonte. She had four brothers, William (Alice), Hugh (Ruth), Gene (Shirley), and Raymond Hays, all of Colorado, and four sisters, Louise (Gerald) Brewer of Colorado, Nancy (Dennis) Triplett of Pennsylvania, Mittie (Jack) McAdams of Colorado, and Wanda (Howard) Hinton of California. She had 18 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

She had four grandchildren, Autumn Quigley and Dylan Quigley of Oregon, Trenton Quigley, and Kaiti (Josh) Church of St. Charles, four step-grandsons, Brandon Minkler (Amy Staton) of Marshall, Alan (Char) Klein, Timmie (Heather) Klein of Sedalia, and David (Jacqueline) Klein of Oklahoma, and three step-granddaughters Julie Pare, Sara Smith of Sedalia, and Tammie (Jeff) Madole of Clinton, and several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her four brothers, three sisters, one grandson, two nieces, one nephew, and one great nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. Friday, June 3rd at Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia, with Brother Ted Francis Officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia.
Family will receive friends beginning at 1:00p.m. prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Pallbearers will be Larry Claycomb, Hunter Durley, Ted Twyman, Jim Woodall, Wayne Tucker, Charles Cline, Steve Berrman and Wayne Hutcheson.

Honorary bearers will be Sharon Twyman, Debbie Davis, Marlin and Jean Brown.

Memorial contributions can be made to Children’s Mercy in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
