Lorraine A. Arnwine, 83, of Sedalia, MO passed Thursday, August 24, 2016. She was born December 23, 1932 in Massena, IA to Ned C. and Alice A. Murray. Preceded in death were both parents, daughter Roberta L. Bird, and husband Allen R. Arnwine.
Lorraine graduated from Massena High School in Massena, IA in 1950 and later from State Fair Community College with the first Licensed Practical Nursing class in 1970.
Her entire professional career was spent in the health care field starting at Bothwell Memorial Hospital in 1964 retiring after 35 years then continuing in home health care completing her professional career in December of 2015 at the age of 83.
Values held high by Lorraine included, but not limited to, service and care for others, mutual respect, forgiveness, acceptance, and trust. She always placed the feelings and welfare of others ahead of her own wanting the best for all. Lorraine’s greatest joys in life were family, friends, and the many families she helped care for. She also enjoyed gardening, antiques, and searching for the “find” at garage sales and flea markets.
Lorraine is survived by her brother Larry L. Murray (Carol) of South Bend, NE, Bruce Bird, Bart Bird, Mark Bird all of Sedalia, Sandra Bird of Springfield, MO., Guy Arnwine, John Arnwine (Jennifer), Jeff Arnwine (Samantha), Arvella Arnwine Jones, Chad Arnwine all of Sedalia, MO, Scott Arnwine of Springfield, MO, many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
No formal services are planned. The family will receive friends and acquaintances during a short visitation at Rea Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
