Harry Runge

Harry JoeHarry Joe Runge, 81, of Hughesville passed away Tuesday, July 04, 2017 at I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs, MO. He was born on February 21, 1936 in Sedalia, Missouri the son of Harry Joseph and Betty Estelle (Swope) Runge, who preceded him in death.

On June 11, 1955 in Houstonia he was united in marriage to Frances L. Norfleet, who resides of the home.

Harry was a member of First United Methodist Church Celebration Center. He was a row crop and cattle farmer all of his life in Hughesville and Houstonia. Harry served on various agricultural boards through out the years. He served on the Mt. Herman Cemetery Board of Directors and was a member of Sedalia Moose Lodge BPOE #1492.

In addition to his wife, Frances, he is survived by three daughters: Lynn Reid and her husband, Harlan of Sweet Springs; Lisa Thompson of Sedalia; and Angela Pollitt of Hughesville; eight grandchildren: Lori, Leah, Sarah, Charli Jo , Taylor, Chase, Haley, and Taggart; seven great grandchildren: Carson, Joanna, Abigail, Keelee, Harper, Kentli and Adelise; a brother, Jon David and his wife Wilma of Hughesville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brent Norfleet Runge; and grandson-in-law Trenton Rhea.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center with Pastor Jim Downing officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Celebration Center.

Burial will be in Mt. Herman Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chase Pollitt, Taggart Pollitt, Benjamin Darbyshire, Robert (Bo) Maze, Robert Norfleet and Robert Schlender.

Honorary bearers will be Melvin Leicher, Larry Mueller, Clay Mitchell Swope, George McConnell, Jason Price, and James Mullins.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Celebration Center or to Mt. Herman Cemetery in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
