Gordon Lee (Buzz) DeHaven, 78, of Sedalia passed away Saturday June 25, 2016 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. He was born on December 27, 1937 in Sedalia, the son of Millard and Dolly (McFatrich) DeHaven, who preceded him in death.
On July 4, 1989 in Las Vegas, NV, he was united in marriage to Carol Templeton, who preceded him in death on January of 1996.
He worked for D&D Distributing for 28 years before retiring. After retiring, he was a windshield delivery driver for Harding Glass in Sedalia, and up until his death he drove for WesMo Auto Sales. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was a life time member of Sedalia Elks Lodge #125 and Sedalia Moose Lodge BPOE #1494. Buzz loved cars and going to Las Vegas.
Survivors include two daughters, Terrie (DeHaven) Cruz (Rick) of Sedalia and Tina Dougan of Sedalia; two sisters, Mary Ditton of Sedalia, JoAnn Foote of St. Charles, MO; a brother, Willard (Bill) DeHaven (Gloria) of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Julie Fizer (Bruce), Holly Vest (Lisa), Jacob Cruz, Taylor Cruz; four great grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth DeHaven.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Crown Hill Cemetery with Honce DeHaven officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by VFW Post #2591 and the United States Navy.
The family will receive friends and family from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Rea Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Rick Cruz, Jacob Cruz, Jeff DeHaven, Larry Ditton, Adam Eckles, and Bruce Fizer.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to ARDS Foundation in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
