Betty Ann Miley, 85, of Lee’s Summit, MO, formerly a lifelong resident of Sedalia, MO passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
Betty Ann Young was born in Sedalia, August 27, 1930, a daughter of Fern and Herbert Young. She graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1948. On April 16, 1950, Betty was married to Dale H. Miley. Together they raised 3 children; Linda Morrison(Rick) of Allen, TX, Karen Stalker(Randy) of Lee’s Summit, MO and Larry Miley(Linda) of Lee’s Summit, MO. She had 6 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren who gave her great joy.
Betty became a Christian at an early age, at First Baptist Church of Sedalia. While there she was involved in various church activities including choir, children’s programs and women’s ministries. She enjoyed a long retirement with her husband, Dale, while RV traveling to every state in the U.S. Her special interests revolved around her faith and family.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, and recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. She also leaves one sister, Laura Hoppes of Sedalia; two brothers, Clay Young of Lone Jack, MO and Herbert Young of Overland, MO; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Georgia Mais and brothers, Stanley and Donald Paul Young.
Visitation is at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 14, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Sedalia. Funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am, with Rev. Marlin Brown officiating.
Pallbearers will be Rick Morrison, Trent Morrison, Miles Morrison, Randy Stalker, Jeff Sallee and James Kovacs.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, with a luncheon following at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Therapy Center or First Baptist Church of Sedalia in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
